Play Free FreeCell Solitaire Online (Dark Mode)

The goal of FreeCell is to move all 52 cards to the four foundation piles, building each suit from Ace through King. Use the four free cells and eight tableau columns to reorganize cards and unlock sequences.

Focus Better with Dark Mode FreeCell

Unlike other solitaire variations, FreeCell is a game of pure skill where nearly 100% of deals are mathematically winnable. Because you need to plan 5 to 10 moves ahead, visual clarity is everything. Our premium dark mode interface eliminates background distractions and harsh lighting, allowing you to focus entirely on shifting sequences and managing your four open cells.

How to Play FreeCell Solitaire

  • Tableau: Build columns down by alternating colors and descending rank. Unlike Klondike, any rank can move into an empty tableau column.
  • Free cells: Each free cell holds one card and acts as temporary storage.
  • Foundations: Each pile is one suit, starting from the Ace. You always play the next higher rank of that suit onto the top of the pile: put the 2 on the Ace, then the 3 on the 2, and keep stepping up (4 on 3, 5 on 4, …) until the King finishes that pile.

FreeCell Tactics and Strategies

  • Use free cells sparingly and try to keep at least one open as an emergency buffer.
  • Open empty tableau columns when you can; they dramatically increase your sequence-moving capacity.
  • Move cards to foundations when it helps, but avoid trapping needed low cards too early.
  • Plan several moves ahead before committing a long transfer between tableau columns.
  • Use undo to test lines and recover from dead-end arrangements.
