Play Free Klondike Solitaire Online (Dark Mode)
The goal of Klondike is to move all 52 cards onto the four foundation piles—one per suit—building up from Ace through King. You win when every card sits on the foundations and the tableau and stock are empty.

Enjoy deep charcoal backgrounds and high-contrast cards perfect for late-night brain training or a relaxing screen break.
How to Play Klondike Solitaire
- Tableau: Build columns down in alternating colors (red on black, black on red), ranking down by one: only a King may start an empty column, then Queen on King, Jack on Queen, 10 on Jack, then 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and Ace on 2.
- Empty columns: Only a King—or a stack starting with a King—can fill an empty tableau spot.
- Foundations: Each pile is one suit, starting from the Ace. You always play the next higher rank of that suit onto the top of the pile: put the 2 on the Ace, then the 3 on the 2, and keep stepping up (4 on 3, 5 on 4, …) until the King finishes that pile.
- Stock & waste: Choose Draw 1 or Draw 3 mode, then tap the stock to draw that amount onto the waste. Only the top waste card can be played. When the stock is empty, recycle the waste back into the stock and keep going.
Klondike Strategies to Win
- Expose face-down tableau cards early—hidden cards are blocking your best moves.
- Open empty tableau columns when you can; they give you space to rearrange sequences and park Kings.
- Move cards to foundations when it helps the layout, but avoid stranding low cards you still need on the tableau.
- Work through the waste before recycling when possible so you do not skip playable cards.
- Use undo to learn from misplays—tight games are often decided by one or two moves.
